Wroxall

Wroxall This view, through a ruined archway, shows a part of the former abbey which still survives, in the form of St Leonard's Church.

The Wroxall Estate was bought by the architect Sir Christopher Wren in 1713. The church contains monuments to five Christopher Wren's, his descendents, and various members of the Wren family are buried in the graveyard.

Wroxall St Leonard's Church originally formed the north aisle of the original abbey.

The church is now known as Wren's Chapel, and is used for regular services, and marriages.
