HEREFORD

Hereford has a very pleasant atmosphere. The area of the town around the cathedral has almost a University-town feel about it.

Buildings close to the cathedral house the Mappa Mundi, a very old world-map, and the cathedral's medieval chained library.

The countryside all around Hereford is very attractive. This is a view from the town, looking up the Wye. The mountains in the background are the Black Mountains, 15 miles away.

This half-timbered building, in High Street, is known as The Old House, and houses a small museum.
