KENILWORTH CASTLE
IN WINTER

In recent years, the climate here has been relatively mild, and we have had snow on perhaps 2 to 5 days each year. The pictures on this page were taken at Christmas 2000/2001 when we had snow during the Christmas holiday. During Christmas 2001/2002 we have also had light snow over the Christmas holiday period.

Kenilworth Ford in Flood

Finham Brook This is the Finham Brook. In medieval times the Finham Brook was dammed at a point near here, to create a huge lake around Kenilworth Castle (visible in the background). Today the brook drains away through large culverts beneath the roadway, but at times of heavy rain rises up over the road. Finham Brook is a tributary of the Sowe, and then flows into the Avon, near Stoneleigh.
